4 people jailed for attempting to arrest Karl Rove

When will the Bush administration be held accountable? If the government doesn’t do it, it looks like the citizens will (or at least try…)

“Four Iowans were arrested today while attempting to make a Citizens’ Arrest of Karl Rove in Des Moines, Iowa. Citing Iowa Code provisions for making Citizen’s Arrests as well as citing Federal Statute violations they claimed Rove had violated, the four were stopped at the gate of the Wakonda Country Club in Des Moines where Rove was scheduled to speak at a Republican Fundraiser.
The four arrested were retired Methodist minister and Peace and Justice Advocate, Rev. Chet Guinn, 80, as well as three Des Moines Catholic Workers, Edward Bloomer, 61, Kirk Brown, 25, and Mona Shaw, 57. All four were cited for trespassing and released.
The four maintained that they were acting within the guidelines of Iowa Code that obligate private citizens to make such an arrest if they believe a felony has been committed and turn Rove over to police officials to bring Rove before a judge for formal indictment. By law, a federal judge should consider the charges and determine if an indictment should be made.”

The corporate controlled propaganda networks are at it again… this time its MSNBC vs. FOX and CNN. FOX news is using footage of John McCain from 8 years ago to counteract his ancient visage. Dan Abrams from MSNBC stated of FOX:
Abrams urged, “Take a good look at the senator and the video they use.” He then showed a clip in which Fox ran video of a strangely youthful and vigorous-looking McCain at a campaign rally to accompany a story about McCain’s current campaign schedule. However, the video also prominently features a sign reading “www.mccain2000.com,” which at one point is even waved in front of McCain’s face.
“Fox is actually using eight year old video to discuss today’s activities,” Abrams marveled. He concluded cheerfully, “They report — you decide.”
In addition to going after Fox, Abrams also aired a recent segment from CNN’s Headline News…

Most everyone at some point has been employed at a company where some undeserving relative has been hired on and is “less than effective” at his or her job functions. This article from the DailyWTF? is a painful tale of one such ordeal. I do not know how accurate or true this yarn is but I’ve experienced situations like this personally and if anything, its a good read.
Its a story about Simon, a developer that is leaving his tech company for greener pastures elsewhere. Hes kind enough to spend time interviewing and training his replacement. Well, I will just let you read the rest…

Not sure how accurate this is but it sure looks fun to try! Planet Wally lists the codes to access the wal-mart intercom systems and the codes you can use to cause endless fun for you and your fellow shoppers.
My favorite: CODE ADAM: Code Adam is used to report a lost child. Technically, the store is supposed to shut all doors until the lost child is found. This sounds like fun until you realize that you are going to be trapped in a Wal-Mart for hours while they attempt to locate a missing child.
Note: Just a joke, I don’t recommend anyone try this.

MacDailyNews is circulating a rumor that apple will release a touch based tablet this October.
“Think MacBook screen, possibly a bit smaller, in glass with iPhone-like, but fuller-featured Multi-Touch. Gesture library. Full Mac OS X. This is why they bought P.A. Semi. Possibly with Immersion’s haptic tech. Slot-loading SuperDrive. Accelerometer. GPS. Pretty expensive to produce initially, but sold at “low” price that will reduce margins. Apple wants to move these babies. And move they will. This is some sick shit. App Store-compatible, able to run Mac apps, too. By October at the latest.”
