I found this browsing around the web and this has got to be one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Its from the Repo man TV show on Tru TV. If you want to skip straight to the madness skip to about the 1:50 mark in the video.
This video is dedicated to the cucumber twins, you know who you are…

Have you ever executed commands in *nix and wonder if there was a better or cooler way to accomplish your task? Well now you can check out all the newest tricks and cool command line syntax at Command line FU! Its kinda like command line submission site patterned after sites like Reddit and Digg.
Check it out fellow geeks, Ive already found some cool stuff like the file flush command I never knew existed. If you want to empty a file’s contents you run the following command:
$ > file.txt
This will flush the contents of the file.txt file without actually deleting the file itself.
By now some of you know that Sarah Palin has “gone dark” on Twitter. Why, do you ask? I firmly believe it was due to the viral skit of comedic genius that was shown on the Conan O’ Brien (Tonight Show) earlier in the week. This will go down as memorable moment because Conan brought out the man, the legend, William Shatner to read verbatim Sarah Palin’s tweets in a spoken word format. Watch the pure comic gold embedded below…

I was surfing around the other day and ran into one of the most incredible science fiction games currently being developed called Infinity. Talking with friends and co workers throughout the years regarding space based games, the holy grail of the space explorer type game was the ability to seamlessly flow through the deep space environment giving the player the ability to land on strange and exotic planets to allow further conquest/ exploration. Well sci fi geeks, your wait is over. Now you too can drop in from a planetary orbit and step into a foreboding landscape only to ultimately get your face sucked and used as an alien incubator.
Infinity uses procedurally based algorithms to generate galaxies which contain millions of randomly generated planets. The game looks absolutely amazing and if it is successful, looks like a watershed point in PC gaming. This is especially exciting for me since I used to stay up into the wee hours playing Elite on my Amiga 500 and thought it would never get any better.
It also looks like they are letting the community build the game assets themselves. So if you’ve got some talent and you feel like you can contribute, give these guys a holler and start submitting!
Can anybody say “Firefly Mod?!
I am posting some MUST watch videos below that showcase some of the procedural technologies. Absolutely amazing!

For years throughout human history there have been the murmurings of dark alliances. Improbable and outrageous conspiracy theories regarding the “true” powers that controlled the world… and for years, despite evidence to the contrary, the people that have adamantly proselytized over and over that there was a “worldwide conspiracy to control the world by unseen powers” were dismissed as “alarmist” and “unbalanced”. While I do no argue that there are unbalanced people in this world recent world events have pushed some ugly truths out into the light.
The age old conspiracy was that there is a global international banking cartel that plots to subjugate every man, woman, and child on this earth through financial means is an old one. Growing up, I would watch as adults would guffaw in outrage and pass such ideas off as radical fringe behavior. I was guilty of the same behavior myself but the conspiracy cat is out of the proverbial bag at this point.
In a strange sort of way this financial collapse is a good thing for everyone (everyone who is paying attention that is…). Its positive in the regard that it has pushed into the light, the fact that the world’s banking and financial system DOES in fact run the civilized world. I don’t think it was planned this way but the “masterminds” behind this financial disaster forgot to include one important factor in their calculations, and that is the fact that greed takes on a life of its own and ends up consuming itself.
The financial institutions, investment firms, hedge funds and loan providers got so greedy, that its culminated into a “DEFCON 1″ scenario where the whole financial system was on the verge of total collapse. So in response, the insolvent banking systems, freshly “evaluated” from the recent government stress tests are now pillaging the very citizens in which they intended to enslave, and our government is in complete support of the saddling of insurmountable debt for many generations to come.
What does it say about the power structure in this country and more importantly, the world when the flailing banking and financial industry has consumed itself in endless greed and now crawl back to world governments and begged for bailouts? The government gives the banking system the bailouts they groveled for and in response, the banks take the money that the citizens have loaned them by proxy and then re-loan our money back to us with interest!
How much more uncapitalist can you get? So my question is “when does it stop being a conspiracy and start becoming fact?”.

I never thought that it would happen. Mike judge is the Nostradumas of our time! There’s a festival next weekend in aptly named Cave in rock, Illinois and its called the 10th Annual Gathering Of The Juggalos (they made it to 10?). Watch and enjoy! I’m willing to bet that the first casting call for “Ow my Balls!” will be held there next year at the 11th annual gathering of the juggalos…

In another news story out of Afghanistan, which the corporate controlled mass media is again failing to report (and you wonder why traditional news outlets are dying?), There is evidently a mass protest going on in the largest prison in Afghanistan. From the Sydney Morning Herald article:
The prisoners are refusing to leave their cells, but they are not engaging in hunger strikes or violence. Ramzi Kassem, a lawyer for a Yemeni held at Bagram, said prisoners are protesting being held indefinitely without trial or legal recourse. The US military declined to comment.
Unlike Guantanamo Bay, where prisoners have access to lawyers, the 620 prisoners at Bagram are not allowed to visit their lawyers. Afghan Government representatives are generally not allowed to visit or inspect the prison.
In April the justice department appealed a U.S. judge’s decision that the prisoners at Bagram had the same Habeas Corpus rights that the prisoners at Guantanamo had. I’m not saying we should coddle the “terrorists” but they are human beings and a civilization is judged by how it treats its prisoners. If they are in fact guilty of crimes put them on trial. Holding someone indefinitely is unjust by any standards.

In a letter that was drafted on behalf of the Postal unions sent a letter on Tuesday to Jim Messina (White House deputy chief of staff) asking the White House to intervene with Congress and reduce the Postal Service’s contributions to its retiree health care trust fund. Otherwise the Postal service would run out of cash and have to issue IOU’s by this October. From the Federaltimes.com article:
Its top executives are now saying that the USPS will default on a $5.4 billion payment to prefund future retiree health benefits on September 30, 2009. And its government affairs representatives are now telling Congressional staff that the Postal Service may not be able to make payroll in October and will be forced to issue IOUs instead.
Looks like the whole IOU concept is beginning to take hold in other places besides California…
