Bully Beatdown TV show!

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Probably one of THE coolest ideas for a TV show ever. Its a show hosted by mixed martial arts fighter named Jason “Mayhem” Miller (a former bullying victim himself). The premise? A diminutive guy sends in a video to Mr. Miller saying that they need help because they are being terrorized and physically pummled by the local neigborhood bully.

Mr. Miller confronts the bullies and challenges them to a match in the ring. It’s sort of like a mobile “My bodyguard”. Watch the delicious trailer below:

The good news, it debuts on March 22nd. The bad news, its airing on MTV :(

Hopefully we can catch it on hulu or something…

Pixelmash theater!

019

For those of you who have played old school PC games from the 64k days, I have a neat site for you to check out. Its called Pixelmash theater. Some ingenious fellows named Foldsfive took the time to recreate classic movies in their pixelated glory. Think of it as an 8 bit cliffnotes versions of classics like Raiders of the Lost ark and Star wars! Ah, these little cinematic gems hearken back to the days of the Commodore 64 and the Atari 2600! Oh the memories…

If you’ve got some time to burn and your waiting for code to compile or even if your in a boring meeting or something, take a minute to check it out. Good stuff!

You want some “Truth”?

Check out the funky fresh moves from the holy hip hop B-boy (and B-girl) crew from “The way international“. From the synchronized urban dance moves to the improvised dance circle, this juxtaposed trio is a entertainment powerhouse. The only thing that could have made this better is towards the end of the performance, Jesus breaks out and starts doing the caterpillar across the stage which eventually transitions into our savior busting out the “helicopter spin” in a climactic finish with pyrotechnics and stage fog.

They should contact me for their next performance, I would so hook them up with great ideas…

In one of the most unwise career decisions, Josh Brolin is committing professional suicide by doing what no actor should ever, ever do. He has decided to go “Full retard” in his latest movie!!

Maybe he will make a comeback like John Travolta or something, but wow, talk about tanking ones career…

RATM playing across from the RNC… what could go wrong?

Sunday, August 24th, 2008

The rebel rock group Rage against the Machine are playing on September 3rd (the same time as the Republican National Convention) in St. Paul, Minnesota at the Target Center. If their last co-liner with a political convention is any sign of things to come, this ought to be a intense night. From the VH1 article:

De la Rocha recently called for President Bush to be “tried for being a war criminal,” and during the band’s Lolla set, he raged against the last eight years of Republican rule and even had a word of warning for “Brother Obama,” referring to presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama.

“Now, we know Brother Obama. … But I tell you what, if he comes to power come November and he doesn’t start pulling troops out of Afghanistan, I know a lot of people who are gonna stand up and burn down every office of every Senate.”

Here is the full article.

Introducing ‘The human camera’!

This has got to be the most incredible thing I have seen in recent memory. A man out of the UK named Stephen Wiltshire is an autistic artist that can draw gigantic a city scape from memory after a 45 minute helicopter ride. He is so amazingly precise that he draws each building with the correct number of windows.

Autism is still not fully understood but there is obviously some portion of the brain thats being accessed that allows for this inconceivable functionality.

The artwork itself is not the most beautiful or technically sound execution on its own merits but the fact that he can walk down a street and store it in his head and reproduce it on canvas WITH NO REFERENCE MATERIAL is absolutely astounding!

Here are some of his gallery paintings which you can order on his website.
