Bully Beatdown TV show!

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Probably one of THE coolest ideas for a TV show ever. Its a show hosted by mixed martial arts fighter named Jason “Mayhem” Miller (a former bullying victim himself). The premise? A diminutive guy sends in a video to Mr. Miller saying that they need help because they are being terrorized and physically pummled by the local neigborhood bully.

Mr. Miller confronts the bullies and challenges them to a match in the ring. It’s sort of like a mobile “My bodyguard”. Watch the delicious trailer below:

The good news, it debuts on March 22nd. The bad news, its airing on MTV :(

Hopefully we can catch it on hulu or something…

Olympic Legoland!

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

I never thought that I would see a more complex lego city than Lego Venice but a Hong Kong Lego users group has painstakingly reproduced the 2008 Beijing Olympic summer games complex.

The group used over 300,000 Lego bricks and 4,500 Lego people to create the gigantic display. The stunningly crafted miniature panorama measures 10ft by 26ft and features famous venues including the “Birds’ Nest” Stadium and the “Water Cube” swimming centre. The one thing I could never locate in the lego masterpiece though were the police detaining and arresting protesters…

The ‘Anti’ Michael Phelps shows his skills

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

In honor of the record breaking 8 gold medals Michael Phelps brought home for the USA in the 2008 Beijing olympics, I wanted to showcase the blazing skills of another lesser known aquatic powerhouse…

Eric “The Eel” Moussambani, a “swimmer” from Equatorial Guinea clocked what is probably the slowest time for an Olympic swimming event ever recorded, but he managed to WIN the event and advanced to the 2004 Sydney Olympics.

How you ask?

Watch this hilarious video below to see how it all unfolded…

Rogue pastor is “on the run” in China

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

Eddie Romero, a pastor from the United States filmed himself in upscale hotel rooms Beijing paintings protests on the walls and vandalizing the room. From AP:

On Tuesday, in a sometimes unsteady hand – he had to teach himself how to paint – the California-based pastor splashed the walls of his two hotel rooms with demands for the release of five Chinese activists. He slashed pillows and staged mock killings with stuffed people propped on the bed, red paint spattered like blood on the headboard.

“One down,” Romero whispers, looking into the video camera. Bespectacled and gray-haired, he holds up a finger in his transformed Novotel Peace Hotel room. “One down.”

Romero, who appears to be alone, tells the camera he doesn’t want to disrupt the games. He talks about religious freedom for groups that remain highly sensitive with the Chinese government – Tibetan Buddhists, Uighur Muslims, the Falun Gong spiritual movement.

“Freedom’s a scary thing for them, and by them I mean the Chinese communists,” he says.

pre fight pic

In the main event of the Affliction: Banned Pay per view event, Fedor Emelianenko destroyed Tim “the Maine-iac” Sylvia in 36 seconds winning the WAMMA world heavyweight championship.

From the opening bell, Fedor charged out of his corner and pummeled his 6’8″ opponent to the canvas with a storm of left and right hooks and crosses. Sylvia withered from the punches and fell to the ground. Fedor then jumped on the dazed Sylvia by back mount and submitted him with a rear naked choke.

Fedor is commonly (unless you are Dana  White) regarded as the best heavyweight MMA fighter to ever live. Although, he has been critized for inactivity in the past, Fedor unvelied himself to the world tonight with a resounding victory. Fedor and Couture next! Come on Dana, let it happen.

Watch the whole brief fight here.
